CloudShark Support

Quick Start

Installing CloudShark is easy!

CloudShark runs on any 64 bit CentOS, RedHat Enterprise Linux, or Oracle system, version 6.x or 7.x, which meets our system requirements. The system can be real hardware, or a virtual machine.

Three ways to install CloudShark

Trial licenses are identical to our other license types, with the exception that they have a shorter lifetime for the purposes of evalutation. This means you can choose any of the following deployment models for any license type.

For Linux admins

Once you have a CentOS, RHEL, or Oracle system installed, please follow our installation instructions to install CloudShark. Installation requires a valid CloudShark Lounge account (this includes registered trial users) and will automatically download and install any dependencies and the latest version of CloudShark.

After CloudShark is installed on your system, check out our getting started with CloudShark page for a high-level walkthrough of CloudShark’s features.

Please note that CloudShark is node locked to the system it is first installed upon. See our licensing page for more information.

For non-Linux admins

We provide an OVA virtual machine for users whom do not wish to install Linux themselves. This image will boot directly into a pre-configured Linux system with an auto-loading CloudShark installation program. A few quick questions later, and the system will load your license from our CloudShark Lounge and tell you the IP address to access CloudShark with.

This is the easiest way to do a CloudShark Trial.

You can learn how to download the OVA and use it on our CloudShark OVA page.

For Amazon AWS Users

We also support running CloudShark in an Amazon AWS EC2 Instance.

Check the system requirements to determine the type of EC2 instances we support and install CloudShark on your own Amazon AWS EC2 instance
